MYOPIA MANAGEMENT IN TZANEEN
MYOPIA MANAGEMENT AT DRY OPTOMETRIST

Myopia Management at Dry Optometrist and merely treating Myopia (Nearsightedness), are two different options – very far apart.
Treating myopia is an easy fix. The danger? It doesn’t do anything to prevent the progression of it. The process to manage and prevent the progression myopia in children takes TIME, EFFORT and an UNDERSTANDING of the risks involved.
At Dry Optometrist, we use specialised equipment that provide precise measurements for a better understanding and use these insights to compile a accurate treatment plan. There are different treatment options available to manage myopia. It is not a one-size-fits-all solution! We explore the different solutions and present these to the guardians.
The good news?
At Dry Optometrist we care about the future of your child’s eyes. We care about the quality of eyesight when that child reaches 50 years plus. Above all, trying to slow down the progression of myopia is one of our main goals.
This is why we invested a lot of time, specialised courses and resources to battle myopia and the progression thereof. We use Specialised Contact Lenses (night lenses/orthokeratology) and specialised spectacle lenses (MiyoSmart OR Myocare). Recently we acquired the Myopia Master! We are proud and humbled to be the first practice in Africa to own this phenomenal piece of equipment.
We are able to measure and set a baseline where your child’s eyesight is and we can predict where he/she is heading. It is extremely important to bring your child for an eye exam to set the baseline. It is just as important to do follow up visits every 6 months from age 6-9 and this is because there is a massive increase in the length of the eyeball the year just before nearsightedness sets in.
In conclusion, At Dry Optometrist we manage Myopia, not just treat it. Let’s take hands to ensure that your child will have a bright future!
